The Timeline or
"The Gap"

This is often what attracts members to this wonderful and deep Order. The Order of Royal and Select Masters builds on Solomonic (or Hiramic) legend that the Freemason begins learning at their initiation and continues through the degrees of Mark Master Mason and the Holy Royal Arch.

We don't wish to expand upon this in depth here; the best way to learn and understand this is to become a Freemason, if you aren't already, and then progress through the degrees as you feel ready. However to provide a brief overview:

• Craft Freemasonry explains the building of King Solomon's Temple. As part of these three degrees a terrible event occurs that leads to the loss of something important

• The ceremony of Mark Masonry runs concurrent with the Craft degrees and expands on details of the building of the temple and some of the characters involved

• The events of the Holy Royal Arch take place nearly five hundred years later when what was lost is found.

The Order of Royal and Select Masters initially runs concurrent with the Craft and Mark and adds detail to the events and the characters. It then bridges that gap and leads into the Holy Royal Arch.

It is said that Craft Freemasonry isn't complete without the Holy Royal Arch. It can further be argued that the Holy Royal Arch isn't complete without the Royal and Select Masters.  ​​​
